Experimental activities at LMMP/PUC-Rio were stopped due to the corona virus outbreak in Rio and social distancing policy. All researchers are working from home since March 16. However, LMMP joined the collaborative effort led by the Department of Design of PUC-Rio and the Navy Research Institute (IPqM) on 3D printing face shield supports to help healthcare workers to protect themselves during the covid-19 outbreak. This project will easy the shortage of protective gear and will help contain the spreading of the virus among healthcare professionals. Thank you Raphael Chalhub, Frederico Gomes and Nicolle Lima for taking shifts to start the printer and collect the printed pieces.
